Meet Kara Mulheron! Kara started at Alkota in March of 2023 and heads up Alkota’s accounts payable role. Kara hails from Vermillion, South Dakota, where she was born and raised. This spring, she saw the opening at Alkota and was excited to jump into a job that aligns with her current studies and interests. Before Alkota, Kara was working at a local recycling plant; she is excited to be now working in an office environment.
Kara’s days are filled with coding and matching invoices with receiving and getting numbers updated in our software. She also helps make sure everyone at Alkota gets paid (thanks, Kara)! We asked Kara what she enjoys most about her job. “I like dealing with numbers and accounting, and it is a good match for the Administrative Office Specialist major I am pursuing at Mitchell Tech.”
When Kara’s not printing checks and crunching numbers, she stays pretty busy in her free time. Kara is proud to serve our country in the Army Reserves. In the additional time she finds, Kara enjoys fishing, deer hunting, and making custom signs out of wood. Someday, Kara wants to take an Alaskan hunter adventure to target a bear or maybe even a moose.
Lastly, we asked Kara what the best part of working at Alkota is. “I really like the cozy office, not having to worry about how the weather will affect my day,” says Kara. “I also enjoy how friendly everyone is; it’s easy to focus and get work done here.”
