Alkota stand-alone water heaters convert any cold water pressure washer into a hot water system — without replacing the pump. Add up to 200°F of heat with a diesel-fired, natural gas, or propane burner in a skid, cart, or enclosed-cabinet footprint. Every unit runs off 12-volt DC so it travels with the rig, and every coil is Schedule 80 steel rated for 4,500 PSI inlet pressure. Pick your fuel type and configuration below.
Alkota “hot box” models range in size from 200,000 BTU to 1,000,000 BTU. We have options that run on 115V, 12V, or 24V, fueled by diesel, kerosene, natural gas, or propane.

A stand-alone pressure washer water heater is a fuel-fired coil unit that sits between a cold water pressure washer and the spray gun. It heats the pressurized water stream to 180–200°F on demand, converting a cold water rig into a hot water rig without replacing the pump or motor. Most units run off diesel, natural gas, or propane.
Yes. A stand-alone water heater is designed exactly for this — no pump swap, no electrical rewiring. The heater inlet connects to the pressure washer discharge, and the heater outlet feeds your gun and hose. Most Alkota add-on units install in under an hour and run off the truck’s 12V battery.
Diesel is the most common for mobile rigs because the fuel is already on the truck. Propane is cleaner and easier for indoor or food-plant use. Natural gas is used in fixed installations with a gas line. BTU per dollar favors natural gas, then propane, then diesel, but operational flexibility usually decides the choice.
Alkota water heaters deliver 180–200°F at the rated GPM. The exact outlet temperature depends on inlet water temp, flow rate, and burner BTU. A properly sized unit raises water temperature by 120–140°F over inlet — so 50°F inlet water comes out at 170–190°F at full flow.
No. A hot water pressure washer already has a built-in burner and coil. Stand-alone water heaters are for shops that bought a cold water pressure washer and now need hot capability — common when jobs expand into food service, fleet, or grease work.
